Ranch Description

The views from the magnificent custom built log home, on 225 acres, are quite spectacular, in every direction, from high mountain snowcapped peaks to forested areas to rolling grasslands this is the Dreamcatcher Ranch. The town of Como was home to the historic narrow gauge railroad which once served the old mining town of Breckenridge by way of Boreas Pass. The roundhouse is still standing in Como. Location Situated just north of Como, Colorado the ranch is about one and a-half hours from the Denver metro area via Highway 285. To get to the ranch take the paved County Road 33 thru Como, which will become gravel. The ranch is the first large, open property on the right. The long driveway and the blue roofs, on the house and guest house, are visible from the road. Breckenridge ski area is approximately 30 minutes north, going thru the town of Fairplay. Improvements The magnificent two story, notch and saddle, log house has 5,288 square feet with three bedrooms and four bathrooms. The main level master bedroom has a jetted Jacuzzi tub, a stall shower, double sinks, and two spacious walk-in closets one for her and one for him and a door to a private deck. The great room has beautiful blond hickory flooring, a stone see-thru gas fireplace, and a wall of windows filled with views of the mountains to the north. The main level has radiant in-floor heating, and a ceiling fan and recessed lighting in the ceiling in the great room. Weathershield windows have been used throughout the house. Climbing the custom split-log steps to the second level you'll find two bedrooms, a full bathroom, a spacious area, filled with natural light, which is currently being used as an office, and an open loft area Both spaces have excellent mountain views. The entire upper area is carpeted. The tile floor kitchen features a JennAir four burner range and a double oven. There is a large island with eating space, access to the lower level and to the laundry / mudroom, and a pantry. The lower level has a home theater room, currently with a 75 screen, Dolby sound system, and a stone, wood burning fireplace. Adjoining is a billiard room, and a separate wine / cigar humidor room. There is a half bathroom and a large stand-alone steam shower. Another room has been stubbed in for a bar sink. In addition there is a workshop room and two storage closets. Guest House A 1,200 square foot apartment is located above the 30' x 40' oversized three car garage six possible depending on their size. There is plenty of room for work space and toys 4 wheelers etc. The apartment has two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a full kitchen. Currently, the apartment is fully furnished. Heat is radiant in-floor and gas fired stove. AG Uses The rangeland has an assortment of mountain grasses usually high in protein and is used for grazing cattle. There are a total of 210 grazeable acres plus a 15 acre grazing lease. Recreation / Hunting The ranch and the area in general, is home to one of the largest elk herds in Colorado. Deer are also plentiful and pronghorns are starting to be a common site. The ranch is entitled to landowner vouchers for each specie. Wintertime offers many opportunities for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing in Breckenridge.
