The Hartman Ranch is located ten miles northwest of Grassy Butte, North Dakota on the edge of the famous North Dakota Badlands. This multigenerational cattle ranch offers a complete package: abundant water, hard grass, and natural protection. Currently operated as a year-round cow/calf operation, pride of ownership is apparent in the care of the headquarters, quality of the grass, and condition of the cattle. Consisting of 1,280± deeded acres, the owners maintain a 200 head inventory which includes a 164 head, seven month grazing permit in the adjacent McKenzie Grazing Association. Substantial feed base and heavy weaning weights make this a quality Badlands cattle ranch. The wildlife on the ranch includes whitetail and mule deer, elk, coyotes, bobcat, pheasant, turkeys, and grouse. There is a land owner elk tag available with this ranch for a resident owner.
