Lush rolling native grasslands set amid ancient stands of mature oak and mesquites trees seamlessly blend across the contours of the property. This part of Arizona is home to some of the most historically significant and picturesque private ranches in the southwest. Mission Oaks Ranch is situated at the ideal 5,200’ to 5,400’ elevation, which provides the best year-round climate in Arizona. The air is dry and pure at this elevation and punctuated by warm sunny days and cool crisp the nights. Outdoor activities are never curtailed in this exceptional climate. Towering wilderness mountains and verdant green valley’s stretch out in all directions free of any man made structures or urban lights. Mission Oaks Ranch is protected by the Coronado national forest, which borders the ranch on three sides and also by a large conservation easement on the fourth, ensuring incomparable privacy. Two free flowing streams lined with old growth cottonwood and sycamore trees meander through the land, attracting world class wildlife from miles around.
The authentic modern adobe main house with over 6,500 square feet features 5 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths, formal living room and dining rooms, family room and handsome wood paneled office with fireplace. There is also a 2 bedroom 1 bath adobe guest house, a foreman’s quarters with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a 3 bedroom, 2 bath old school house, huge barn with tack room, bunk house and fully equipped workshop. Most of the buildings have exquisite new mission tile roofs adding both beauty and long term durability to each.
All ranch buildings are powered by a new state of the art solar array with two backup generators. There are four wells with secured water rights, each producing abundant pure water. The waters are stored in three large storage tanks. High capacity propane tanks provide both cooking and heating to each of the residential buildings. Telephone service is also provided eliminating the need for reliance on cellular coverage. The ranch is fenced and cross fenced with sturdy newer fencing. The cattle pens are in excellent condition. A large stock pond impounds water for both scenic beauty and the enhancement of the wildlife habitat. It is approximately seventy five miles to Tucson International airport and thirty miles to the charming town of Sonoita with its fine compliment of shopping and services.
