1,017 acres - Wyoming ranch on the plains south of Upton with direct access to public land, two seasonal creeks and numerous reservoirs. 1,017 acres of rangeland with over two miles of the southern boundary adjoining several sections of Thunder Basin National Grasslands.
Iron Creek runs the full length of the property from the north boundary to the southeast corner. Coyote Creek runs through the southwest side. Both creeks are intermittent. There are five large reservoirs and some smaller reservoirs disbursed throughout the property. Several of the reservoirs were constructed during reclamation projects after bentonite mining.
The land is cross-fenced into three main pastures and several smaller pens. An old homestead location is located on the west side. It has electricity and a gathering pasture.
The terrain is rolling prairie pastures with native hard-grass and sage. The ranch is at an elevation of 4,200 feet with sweeping views of the surrounding plains and toward an expanse of the Black Hills, which is about a 45-minute drive from the ranch.
There is good county road access to the property with the east side of the property joining Nester Road in two places. The property is just south of Upton, Wyoming about 1 mile. Other area towns include: Sundance 30 miles, Newcastle 30 miles and Moorcroft 22 miles.
Area big game includes antelope and mule deer. Geese and ducks are frequently seen on the reservoirs in the spring and summer. Nearby recreational areas include Keyhole State Park and the Black Hills National Forest.
