Ranch Description
If you have been looking for a place of peace and tranquility; look no further. The Pea River Retreat was built with God in mind. It is a place where family and friends, churches and brethren, can come together and enjoy. It has over 300' of Pea River Frontage, with a deck, boat ramp, and open cabin at the river. The beautiful hardwoods and cypress are an impressive view as they lead you to the river. The owner built a 30'x60' auditorium where people could gather and worship God, have youth retreats, or meet for an all-night singing. It has a 24'x54' fellowship hall with full kitchen area, with two half baths. He even built two working out-houses that could be used when the crowds were large.
He also built a small pond to put the fish in from the river, so they would be an easy catch when he wanted fish for dinner. There is also a shooting range with a mound of dirt surrounded by tin. The road from the house to the river is a scenic masterpiece, with mature hardwoods, cypress, and slough with a pier to fish from. Behind the house is a large shop with a storage building attached.
The three bedroom, two bath house was built in 1999 with serenity in mind. The new floors and wood walls give a feel of going back in time, but the central heating and cooling keeps you very comfortable. It has over 1400 square feet of living space, with a nice front and back porch to enjoy. The front porch over-looks the grand entrance into the property. The house sits over 800' off the road, and coming into the property there is a beautiful entrance with rustic wood, and a boat above the entrance that says: “Jesus is coming, get into the boat”. The grounds has 5 RV sites with power, water and septic, and is along the east property line that is fenced. All of the property is fed by a deep well that runs from the RV sites all the way to the river. This property is located in Section 8, township 7 north, range 23 east at latitude 31.5916 longitude -85.7716.
