There have been sightings on the ranch of hundreds of elk coming down to the water in the ponds on the ranch, and dozens of bucks on the hillside with one tipping the scales at over 180 inches. If you're an extreme Mule Deer hunter, you've likely heard of Unit 2B in New Mexico with more Boone and Crocket entries than any other unit in the state, and the biggest tipping the scale at over 300 non-typical mule deer. Jicarilla Ranch is perfectly situated in the tall ponderosa and spruce with great cover on the hillsides and plenty of feed and water throughout. Elk hunting is phenomenal, with bulls scoring over 350 up to 380 taken each year.
