The summer highs average in the mid to upper 80s, winter highs average in the mid to upper 40s.

There are record class elk in the mountains. Also lots of deer, antelope, bear, sheep, fox, coyote, wildcat, and mountain lion, and just about any other animal you can think of. When we were in this area we saw a beautiful timber wolf standing on a hill just off of the road. We watched several large elk grazing a couple hundred yards away.
