Ranch Description

Located 13 miles south of Lusk, Wyoming, or 10 miles north of Jay Em, Wyoming, the Rawhide Buttes Ranch is a well-watered, productive grass ranch consisting 406± deeded acres. The carrying capacity of the ranch is owner-rated at 60 yearlings or 30 cow/calf pairs during the summer months. The grass is a variety of hard grass species which typically yields weight gains of 2 to 2.6 pounds per day on yearling cattle. Water resources are from two electric wells that service a pipeline and stock tanks along with one windmill. The ranch is cross-fenced into three pastures. Most fences are four and five-wire barbed with steel and wood posts and are in good condition. The ranch has scenic western views of the Rawhide Buttes with rolling foothills and chalk buttes that offer good protection for livestock and wildlife. Wildlife that frequent the property include mule deer, antelope and coyotes. This productive ranch country is private but has great year-round access via US Highway 85 and is in close proximity to town.
