Ranch Description

The Zimmerman Ranch is located Northwest of Anselmo approximately 8 miles right along US HWY 2. This ranch has been in the Zimmerman Family for 94 years. The ranch is all contiguous with great accessibility. It lies on the Southeastern edge of the Sandhills and has semi sub-irrigated soils which allow for good stocking rates, and meadows that can be both hayed and grazed. The Zimmerman family has taken a lot of pride in their ranch for many years and it shows. The fences are well kept and cedar trees are well managed with little to none on the property. Stocking Rates This ranch is rated through the Nrcs at a carrying capacity of 7 acres per cow/calf pair seasonally, which holds 350 pair on a 6 month seasonal grazing or 200 pair year round as well as additional meadow hay capable of grazing some additional numbers. Meadow Hay There are 400-600 bales harvested annually on the Zimmerman Ranch depending on moisture at a 1200 pound per bale average. CSP Program The ranch is enrolled in a C.S.P. program through the Usda Nrcs with one year remaining, which has helped to make some water and tree improvements. The contract goes through 2021 and has the capability to be re-enrolled through the new buyer.
