Ranch Description

This well managed and profitable 725 acre dairy farm, located in Jefferson County, is a must see. It has been set up as a pasture based grazing dairy business to ensure high demand, high quality, grass based milk products. Its location allows for year around grass growth, a fulltime, suitable outside environment for the livestock, and a high quality aquifer.There are over 495 acres of irrigated land under a total of 7 pivots. Four of these pivots are supplied by a gravity fed 120 horsepower electric pump from a farm owned pond on Big Creek dam. These pivots were put in place in 2007, 2008, and 2017. The remaining 3 pivots are supplied by a 380 foot, 120 horsepower well with 10 inch steel casing that was drilled in 2007 and reconditioned in 2014. These pivots were put in place in 1997, 2002, and 2011. If needed, there is also a diesel pump ex on Big Creek Pond. Four of the 7 pivots are already fitted for cow cooling. Irrigation, misting, stock water and dairy shed water supplies inter-linked to provide backup options.There is a 40 a-side herringbone dairy shed with grain feeding as well as laneways for facilitating cow movement to each of the 77 paddocks. Each paddock is formed with wooden posts and electrified wire and contains at least one water trough which is supplied with water through buried PVC pipe. Approximately 600 cows are milked in the current operation.There are three houses on this 725 acre property which include the original 2500 square foot farm house, a 3 bed, 2 bathroom double wide mobile home, and a 3 bed, 2 bathroom single wide mobile home.
