Little Turkey Creek Tract is a great place to enjoy the woods and water. A five-acre pond is surrounded by more than 100 acres of natural pine and hardwood forests. The upper end of Little Turkey Creek is the eastern boundary. An old beaver swamp is tucked into the tract's southern corner and more shallow water areas are in the tail of the pond.
The forest is a mix of loblolly and other pines along with hardwoods such as yellow poplar, white oak, and maple. Most trees on upland areas are around 25 to 30 years old. Large, old hardwoods are found on slopes and bottomlands close to Little Turkey Creek.
A woods road gives access through the tract. Shooting lanes and small wildlife openings are scattered throughout. Deer and turkey signs are common. Ducks and geese frequent the pond.
Bell Road is a dead end road shared with only a few neighbors. The woods road going into the property comes off Bell Road with a neighbor's driveway. Access is via a 60-foot-wide strip that runs for about 1,300 feet to the main body of the tract. Look for land for sale signs and a blue farm gate. Gate is locked. Greenwood's north side is about a 15-minute drive away with everything from Publix and Lowes to Starbucks and Outback Steakhouse. The tract about 4 miles south of Donalds and about 13 miles from Greenwood, 25 miles from Anderson, and 45 miles from Greenville. All distances are approximate road miles to the center of town.
