106 acres on litt le mountain top w ith mountain view s all around.
Eastatoee Mountain lies betw een the Eastatoee River and Little Eastatoee Creek
in a beaut iful rural area of northern Pickens County. The top of the litt le
mountain is at about 1,136 feet w ith mountain view s in all directions. Many
building sites are of fered by broad ridges and access is already established f rom
f rontage on Scenic Hwy 11.
The land is bordered on tw o sides by the Jocassee Gorges Natural Area.
Covering a total of about 43,500 acres this natural area is managed by the SC
Department of Natural Resources. Close enough to see and hear f rom the 106
acre tract Eastatoee River runs through the Jocassee Gorges property.
The 106 acres are all w ooded w ith pine and hardw ood forests. There are about
23 acres of planted pines both loblolly and w hite pine. The balance of the
property is a mature natural forest of oaks, maples, hickory and native pines.
Some of the largest trees are more than 2 feet in diameter. When the leaves fall,
you can see the forested ridges all around.
Large boulders and rock outcroppings are scattered across the land. A small
stream f low s though the northeast corner. There is one old pond site w aiting to
be restored and other sites are possible. Public w ater main runs along Hwy 11.
