Located less than a mile+ off of M-35, the property lies to the west of Perkins, an unincorporated community in Baldwin Township. Perkins was founded around 1872 by the Cascade Company, which made charcoal kilns and cut lumber in the community. It was named after Josiah Perkins, an early settler of the area. Commerce in this area was supported by the Whitefish Branch of the Chicago and North Western Railway, which is still active today. From the L'Anse Welcome Sign take US41 south to Teal Lake Avenue in Negaunee. Take a right and go 1/4 miles to Main Street. Take a left and go 3 blocks to Healy Avenue. Take a right and go 2 blocks to County Road 480. Take a left and go to cross roads with County Road 553. Go down County Road 553 for 19.4 miles. At the CR553/M-35 Intersection take a left. Continue south 23.5 miles on M-35 to Perkins 30.5 Road (Approximately 2 miles to the west of the Village of Perkins.) Take a hard right onto this road. Go 3/10 mile and take a left. Go 4/10 mile to driveway on the left. Silver Metal Gate Is Locked. Cabin Location is about a half mile down a good woods road.
